“Upper School seems so far away until it's not, and when it is finally there, it goes by quickly. There are so many amazing opportunities throughout Upper School, and it is important to make the best out of everything it offers you. Be involved and take the time to appreciate everything before it's over.”

Most Meaningful Activity
My favorite extracurricular throughout Upper School was Yearbook Club with Señora Glascock. For the past two years it has been amazing watching the Yearbook be created from start to finish. Designing a page from scratch and then getting to see it at the end of the year is a great feeling.
My Favorite Memory
During every break I had, I would visit Mrs. Kemp's office. We would chat for as long as we could about anything going on in the world, or on the Bachelorette, and I would always leave her office feeling better than when I entered.
Reflections on Learning
The teacher who impacted me the most throughout my time at Norfolk Academy was Dr. Jenkins. I was in Dr. Jenkins’ first class her first year teaching at Academy and she gave me a new love for English (especially poetry). She has been my advisor for the past three years and every time I see her, she asks about what books I'm reading. I love that when I give her a good recommendation, she takes the time to read the book herself so we can discuss.
The Academy Difference
Norfolk Academy was always so gracious and understanding throughout my time here. The teachers and administrators, especially Mrs. Gorsline, go out of their way to ensure their students succeed. I hope that I can show others the kindness and consideration that Academy has shown me.
A Quick Word About Sophia
“The adjectives inquisitive, passionate, and determined come to mind when I think of Sophia Mirovski. Serving as her Yearbook advisor for two years, I have had the opportunity to witness her creative flair, sense of humor, and compassion for others. For Sophia, the Yearbook class was like an art class which allowed her to express herself artistically rather than academically. She blossomed under those circumstances. Sophia is responsible, dedicated, and dependable in all that she approaches.” ~ Ms. Mary Todd Glascock, Sophia’s Yearbook Advisor
