“Being here since first grade has allowed me to grow my relationships with the entire grade. The memories of this class will be something I remember for the rest of my life and I am also grateful to know I will always have an uplifting and supportive community in my life.”

Most Meaningful Activity
Volleyball. The preseason team sleepovers and bus rides back from Richmond are some of my favorite memories during my time in high school.
A Favorite Memory
The Homecoming pep rally has been one of my favorite traditions during the school year. Seeing the seniors on fall sports teams dance was always a highlight.
Reflections on Learning
One of the best in-class experiences has been my Latin American History class this year, walking into the room with music playing throughout Massey and Señor Bryant dancing.
Ms. McCallum has made one of the biggest impacts on me. She always pushes me to trust myself and be confident in all of the things I do. She was my 11th grade math teacher and even during the transition to virtual school last spring, she continued to encourage and check in on me.
A Quick Word About Sierra
“I think even without her knee pads on, Sierra Gilliard would dive for a volleyball to help her team and to demonstrate the grit it takes to dig deep and accomplish a goal. For the past few years, I have watched as her play and her knowledge of the game has grown exponentially. This advancement has shown me not only how capable she is of transforming a game with hard work and a positive attitude but ultimately how she has begun to ignite a program on the court. There is a distinct flame burning inside of Sierra, and she has learned to use that for good both in athletics and in academics.” ~ Ms. Catherine McCallum, Sierra’s Precalculus Teacher and Associate Director of Athletics
