Three Words to Describe the Class of 2021: Driven, Dedicated, Caring
Most Meaningful Activity
I have greatly valued my performances in the Fall Plays and Winter Musicals. The bond between cast members is unparalleled, and I have made some of my best friends.
Reflections on Learning
My first semester math class this year had six students. We frequently engaged in debates over random subjects, such as aerodynamics of hoodies vs. jackets and how to properly sit in a chair. These conversations always added to my day, making math class something I genuinely looked forward to.
Dr. Kidd has been a mentor to me since I joined the Literacy Fellows in ninth grade. Since then, I have been in two of his English classes, in which he has truly helped me to explore my passion for writing. His door is always open, and he has helped me through much of my time in the Upper School.
Norfolk Academy Impact
I took part in a three-person extra credit project in my senior year physics class. We were the first group ever to make physics art. I hope this hangs in the classroom for years to come to show that an objective, math-based subject can also allow for creativity.
A Quick Word About Reed
“Reed possesses unbelievable brainpower, tremendous work ethic, refreshing humility, and a more powerful voice than most. What makes her so beautifully unique is that despite boasting stellar accomplishments, she remains down-to-earth, listens to understand before she speaks, and does what she does because she genuinely loves what she does, always defining self-worth from within. Make no mistake. Reed has strong convictions, and can go toe to toe with the brightest minds out there. But while she proactively and enthusiastically pursues her passions, she does so to better herself and build up others, taking more pride in others’ achievements than she ever would in her own personal successes. She is one of the brightest and most giving spirits I have come across.” ~ Brad Harlan, Reed’s College Counselor
The thing that most makes me a Bulldog is… my commitment to the values instilled in me by NA.
