Michigan State University

“Norfolk Academy has taught me the importance of honor. Through our Honor Code, I have uncovered what it means to serve a greater role than simply being a student. We have a duty to ourselves and others, and how we act impacts everyone around us.”

Varsity Football Team Statistician, NA-TV (Captain), Sci-Fi Club (Executive Member)

What I’ll Miss Most about NA: The relationships I have built with my teachers

Most Meaningful Activity
Throughout my time at Norfolk Academy, I have had the opportunity to work with the varsity football team. Starting in eighth grade, I have taken statistics for the team. This experience has taught me many lessons, as well as established new relationships.

Beyond the Classroom
The community service opportunity offered to us during middle school is one of my favorite aspects of Norfolk Academy. I loved engaging with other members of our community.

Inspirational Teacher-Coach
In eighth grade, I had the opportunity to play under the tutelage of Coach Caskill. This is the most defining experience of my Norfolk Academy journey. Coach Caskill taught me the importance of perseverance and the value of hard work. These are lessons I will never forget.

A Word of Advice to his Fellow Bulldogs
Surround yourself with people who mean a great deal to you. You will come to learn that your time at Norfolk Academy goes by quickly. Use it to make lasting friendships.

A Quick Word About Nathan
“Nathan possesses an impressively sharp intellect and genuine curiosity. He simply loves historically-based topics and enjoys drawing connections between what seems on the surface to be bits of data. No matter the class, Nathan is outspoken and enthusiastic, approaching every assignment or task with confidence, ready to demonstrate his command. He doesn’t cut corners, and enjoys what he studies, with his enthusiasm routinely igniting class discussions. I have truly enjoyed working with him in all my capacities, and know that he will be a positive contributor on whatever college campus he chooses to attend.” ~ Mr. Richard Oberdorfer, Nathan’s History Teacher

The thing that most makes me a Bulldog is… my determination to succeed.
