Three Words to Describe the Class of 2021: Optimistic, Strong, Friends
Beyond the Classroom
I loved meeting new people every time we changed tables during lunch in the Refectory. I believe that without assigned tables, I would not have met and created the friendships that I did.
Coach Acra has had a large impact on me. He is also my advisor, and he cares about the students and culture of NA so much. He has shown me how special and unique NA is and has always been someone who can cheer me up. His love of this school is contagious.
The Academy Difference
Because of NA, I know how the little things impact others. Smiling and saying "hello" when you pass someone in the hallways and shaking hands are just two examples of what sets us apart. Additionally, Norfolk Academy has shown me how to be a leader and that to achieve your goals, you must work hard.
Words of Advice for My Fellow Bulldogs
After each day, never leave school with any regrets. Don't be afraid to speak your mind in class or try a new skill on the field. Twelve years fly by, and I look back and wish I could stay a little longer. Make the most out of everything that NA provides, because it is a special school.
A Quick Word About Kate
“Kate is gritty. She’s fierce. She is as determined and driven as the day is long. She is also kind and gracious and compassionate. Her greatest wish: to be remembered as someone who was able to offer something to others, be it wisdom or perspective or simply a smile. These qualities that Kate exhibits day-in and day-out have enriched our community and filled it with vitality. We are proud of Kate – not just for her many public triumphs, but also for the unyielding strength she exhibits in defeat. She sets an example to which others can aspire and reminds each of us that it’s always worth striving to be our very best.” ~ Mrs. Wendy Livingston, Kate’s College Counselor
The thing that most makes me a Bulldog is…knowing how to treat others with respect and kindness.
