Washington and Lee University
“Norfolk Academy has shaped me into the person I am today. Before I arrived at NA, I was a small, insecure freshman, but as the years have passed, NA has helped me become an adult confident in my abilities to be successful wherever I end up.”

Most Meaningful Activity
Norfolk Academy lacrosse has given me the ability to not only play the game I love, but also make connections with countless friends.
A Favorite Memory
I love traveling, so going to Peru with the Global Affairs Fellows was one of my favorite non-classroom experiences. My cohort went to Peru twice, and they were both extremely transformative. I am so grateful for those trips.
I think it is impossible to identify one singular teacher who had the biggest impact on me as a person because I have had so many great teachers and coaches along the way. Some of the people who have made me the person I am today include my lacrosse coaches Coach Duquette, Coach Tucker, and Coach Duffy; Coach Gibson for helping me throughout my high school career; and my advisor and coach Eric Acra for everything he has done for me.
Making His Mark
I believe that I have made a lasting impact on Norfolk Academy through the connections I have made with my peers. Throughout my time at NA, I have made an effort to make connections with all my teammates, classmates, and teachers.
A Quick Word About Jack
“Jack’s combination of high intellectual horsepower and an intense and intrinsic drive virtually ensure that he will succeed in any academic environment. Being a capable and highly dedicated student, however, is just one small part of Jack’s tremendously well-rounded character. Jack is gregarious and affable, and most importantly, Jack is highly empathetic. When all these unique character traits are combined, the result is a kid who is well regarded by his peers, and a kid whose peers choose to follow.” ~ Mr. Jack Gibson, Jack’s history teacher and Co-Director of Global Affairs Fellows.
