Wake Forest University
“Coach McCallum has had the biggest impact on me. We never played a sport together, but she always helped me with math when I needed it. Teachers who are willing to listen and actively want to help their students always make a big difference to me.”

Beyond the Classroom
Thanks in large part to Dr. Kidd, events with the Batten Leadership Program, specifically the Literacy Fellows, have been especially memorable. I loved our summer travel trips to Washington, D.C. and New York City, and our overnight retreat.
Reflections on Learning
My favorite classroom memory was helping create my Philosophical Literature class' published chapbook, "Discourses on Their Methods." Each student wrote a piece for the book, and it was published through Heavy Cat Press. I also drew the cover art!
The Academy Difference
Norfolk Academy has taught me the importance of honor. I have learned to appreciate the Honor System and hope to attend a college that upholds a similar system.
Making My Mark
I drew the senior sketch this year, which will be included in the 2021 Yearbook. I hope that my art will leave an impact.
A Quick Word About Caroline
“Caroline immediately established herself as a first-rate student of literature and history. I quickly learned that Caroline is comfortable in her own skin and confident in her love of reading and discussion…. As a student, Caroline is not merely interested in earning high marks; she displays a true passion for books and ideas, and for that reason is a joy to teach. I should add that her contributions during class discussions were unfailingly thoughtful and useful to the class. She also listens carefully to what others have to say and enriches others’ experiences with her intellectual curiosity and desire to engage with and learn from other people.” ~ Mr. Ari Zito, Caroline’s Advanced English Teacher
