Thoughtful Leaders whose voices are heard...
Every Norfolk Academy student possesses ample aptitude.
But it’s the creative and resilient way they think, the ambitious and compassionate goals they pursue, the mature and boundary-crossing worldview they test and uphold that makes them—and our entire community—stand out.
Our students write poems and research papers, conduct scientific experiments, explore biology assignments on iPads, discuss classic works, debate moral quandaries, paint and sculpt, play and compete, and yes, take tests. But our students develop as thought leaders—right now, among their peer group, and far into the future, within their profession—because they realize the incredible opportunities in front of them, and raise their own self-expectations to make the most of this lifelong gift of education.
The emphasis on respectful discourse and creating a positive, open classroom environment
was integral to my development as a leader.
