 | Jay LasleyDirector of Admissions University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - B.A. Elon University - M.Ed. Jay Lasley is a native North Carolinian who has a BA in History from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and an MEd from Elon University. From 2006-2011, Jay was the Director of Admissions at The Elon School, where he also taught history and coached basketball. For ten years, he worked at his alma mater, Williams High School, as a history teacher, basketball coach, and athletic director. Jay, his wife Emilly, and their three children, Jack (NA class of 2023), Kate, and Sam enjoy traveling, spending time at the beach, and pulling for their beloved UNC Tar Heels. |
 Trent BlytheAssociate Director of Admissions University of Virginia - B.A. University of New Castle upon Tyne - M.A. Mr. Blythe joined the Admissions Office in 2011. He came to Norfolk Academy after serving 17 years as the Director of Admissions, Director of College Counseling, English instructor, and coach at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. Mr. Blythe played collegiate lacrosse at Hampden-Sydney College and completed his undergraduate program at the University of Virginia. He and his wife, Jennifer, studied abroad in England where Mr. Blythe received his M.A. from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The Blythes have two children, Holt and Eliza ‘22. Mr. Blythe currently teaches Form V English and coaches in the boys’ lacrosse program. |
 Sarah SmytheAssociate Director of Admissions Washington and Lee University - B.A. Sarah Smythe joined the Norfolk Academy Admissions team in 2005. She is a graduate of the Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut and received a B.A. in English from Washington and Lee University. Before moving to Norfolk, she served as Associate Director of Admissions at Providence Day School in Charlotte, NC and as an Admissions Associate at the Darden Graduate School of Business at UVA. Ms. Smythe also serves as an assistant coach for the the Bulldog Field Hockey team. |
